MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers

Want to be the Best Mom Possible?  You are not alone!!

MOPS encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders in relationship with Jesus. For nearly 40 years, over one million moms have met in MOPS groups in the United States and in over 32 countries.  A MOPS group is a dynamic, inviting environment where women can come just as they are to build friendships, be encouraged by each other and gain practical parenting strategies. Moms get together to share food, laugh, join in a creative activity, and hear inspiring speakers.

In a MOPS group, you experience authentic community, mothering support, personal growth and spiritual hope, all to help you be the best mom possible.

While moms are in a MOPS meeting, their children are lovingly cared for in the MOPS KIDS program.

Crystal Coast MOPS meets at Cape Carteret Baptist Church on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month, (September thru May), from 9-11 am.  You will be welcomed, accepted, and inspired to reach your full potential as a Mom. Come and join us!

The cost for MOPS Moms is $81.95, which breaks down as the International MOPS fee of $31.95 and the Crystal Coast MOPS local group fee is $50.00.

(International Welcome Kit includes guidebook, magazine, discounts, music downloads, and other surprises.  Local group fees include materials for meetings, childcare and end of year celebration.)

Scholarships are available.

MOPS - Mentor Moms

The Purpose of Mentoring

A mentor is someone who walks a few steps ahead of us.  As the MOPS Mentor, you bring perspective on mothering, womanhood and relationships — all based on biblical principles and your own life experiences. Through teaching and one-on-one relationships, you communicate with vulnerability and honesty. You provide a foundation for acceptance, trust and a safe place to grow. You are a cheerleader, a comfort and a living testimony that it is going to be okay.

The MOPS Mentor is a mature woman who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You are able to mentor mothers of young children, not because you have all the answers, but because you have a strong relationship with Jesus and as one who has experienced many of the challenges these young moms now face, you offer encouragement and hope. As a MOPS Mentor, you are a woman of significant influence and one of the keys to a healthy, thriving MOPS group.

The Roles of a MOPS Mentor

Prayer Warrior: MOPS Mentors provide spiritual covering for the group.

Friend: Strive to be open and vulnerable, with eyes to see who might need a friend.

Counselor:  Most MOPS moms need a good listener who hears how they feel without telling them how to feel.

Advisor:  Give advice in an open and loving way when asked.

Role Model:  You teach far more through your actions, manner and example than you do through your words.
